Brief Description: Rudder/Throttle assembly - part 8 - Aileron Stops
The Aileron Control Stops (part #5310-086) were not included in my original kit supply but PA did send me one later when I asked about it. Apparently they are required in the FAA certified factory assembled LSA but not in the amateur built LSX. I did up a drawing of the part I had and my build buddies Glen and Bob down in Nelson, BC, made some up and sent me one. Thanks guys! I had earlier assembled the Throttle/Rudder handles using a temporary AN4-20A bolt, without the stops, but now put in the two stops using a drilled AN4-24 bolt, castle nut and cotter pin that I bought from Aircraft Spruce, all as per the manual Section 10 step 25. Why there is a stop on the pilot side is a mystery to me as there is no Aileron Control Tie Rod Tube on this side to be 'stopped'. It sits there all forlorn, a vestigal organ much like the human tailbone.
