Brief Description:  Holes for gear and drains

Had a lovely sunny spring Sunday, with my elapsed time at the hangar extended by three different visitors... not one of whom picked up a tool, but the drink cooler came in handy.
Marking and cutting out the circular holes in Step 15 for the port and starboard main gear was uneventful, except that I learned that you shouldn't glue the carpet to the inside of the hull in this area beforehand. I also learned that the contact cement I had used for this hadn't provide that strong a bond. So after cutting out the gear holes with a jigsaw I fixed the carpet back in place using trowel on Roberts Indoor/Outdoor Carpet Adhesive 6700, and then cut out the carpet covering the gear holes.
I then jumped back to Step 5 to install two hull drain plugs, one at the transom and one at the aft hull step. The drain plugs were not supplied in my LSX kit but since they looked like a good idea I purchased two Ronstan RF204 from West Marine and mounted them with #8x3/4 SS pan tapping screws with SS washers.
