Brief Description:  Rudder/Throttle assembly part 3

Spent 5 hours over 3 days with not much physical progress. Instead I used the internet to learn the difference between a AN310 and a AN320 castle nut (the former is a full nut to take tension and the latter is slimmer designed only for bolts in shear), what size cotter pins are required for different size drilled bolts (1/16"x1/2" for AN3/4/5 and 3/32"x3/4" for AN6, though another source says AN4 needs 5/64"x1/2" and AN5 needs 5/64"x3/4"), what the difference is between an AN380 and a AN381 cotter pin (former is cadmium plated alloy steel, latter is stainless steel) and also spent an hour organizing and baggie-ing all my fasteners (get a life Bob!).
But I did actually assemble something too... the throttle/brake sticks. I passed on Section 10 Step 20, gluing the rudder foot pads onto the pedals, as it is too cold in the hangar to consider gluing anything, and on Step 21, installing the pedal springs, because my frame is not yet inside the hull. Step 23 makes a big deal about the tight fit to be expected putting the throtte lever into the base tube and using a rubber mallet to drive the tube inserts into place. Not the case at all, everything slid in easily. Something is wonky in Step 24 as the top two holes in the base tube are too close together to allow the Matco brake cylinder to mount onto it. I thought about grinding the washers down but think I still won't be able to get the nuts on. Perhaps I will just re-drill one of the holes to spread the bolts apart. But first I will reach out to fellow builders... anyone?
Then in Step 25 it calls for Aileron Control Stops part #5310-086. Apparently these are for the LSA build and not the LSX. Without them in the assembly there is no need for the two 1/8" plastic spacers and the AN4-24 bolt can be reduced to AN4-20. But without a drilled bolt of either size I put in a temporary AN4-20A and standard nut. But should I have Aileron Control Stops?
To cap off a rather dismal manual section the replacement brake lever #3240-077 was not supplied.
