Manual Reference:  Section 10
Brief Description:  Rudder/Throttle assembly

The winter weather has continued to be incredibly unusual. Driven by the 'Pineapple Express' today's outdoor temperature was almost warm at 0 to 3C and inside the hangar it was a quite pleasant 0C. Not exactly T-shirt conditions but good enough.
I decided to skip ahead of Section 5, which is the installation of the aluminum airframe into the FRP hull, as I plan to get my hands on some useful tools this coming weekend. My father, while hale and hearty at 87, has decided to downsize from the big old family home, leaving his half century of tool collecting up for grabs. I know that his jig saw, dremel, hole drill and keyhole saws will be worth waiting for when working the FRP.
Having already assembled the main wheels and tail wheel, there wasn't much I could move ahead on except Section 10 - Rudder/Throttle Assembly.
It took me 1.5 hours just to dig out most of the parts... and I am organized!
Once I got into it though things went really well as I got steps 1 - 7 done in 4 hours. And that included wasting about an hour with the @#$%# air riveter as the 'frame head' snapped off (made of crappy cast metal). In these steps there are 14 rivets to pull. I could use the broken riveter but after each rivet I had to dissassemble the jaws to release the spent rivet shank. I am trusting that the supplier will replace the broken part without delay as I have more than 2,000 rivets to go in my parts box! 18 Feb 2015 update: Princess Auto sent the part by mail immediately upon my call!
Step 4.2 and 4.7 each call for a AN5-34 bolt (drilled at thread end) with castle nut & cotter pin but these were not supplied or listed on the inventory sheets. So I proceeded using standard AN5-34A bolts with lock nuts on a temporary basis and will ask PA for the correct parts.
In Step 7.2 I managed to install both of the Pulley Mount Bracket, Fwd upside down (Murphy's Law). The items look like they are symmetrical but they aren't, and upside down the reach for the rivet is too long. The otherwise great instructions are mute.
