Brief Description:  Fuel Tank installation ongoing

The missing Fuel Tank Support Plate (#XXXX-XXX) called for in Chapter 5.3 was received in the mail during the past week from Renee at PA so I installed it without any difficulty today.
This allowed me to install the Fuel Tank Angle, Aft which required two AN4-25A bolts that also arrived in the package from PA. I installed the aft angle exactly as described in Chapter 5.3 using 9 plastic spacers on each side plus a saddle. This caused the aft angle to hang down 1/2" below the Boom Tube making me wonder what its purpose was. Taking out spacers so that the angle pressed up tight to the Support Plate and Boom Tube above made the AN4-25A bolts far too long.
Another puzzle was that the aft angle must have been designed for the old size tank installation as it is clearly too long as installed for the new style tank, projecting out about 4" to port and starboard of the Boom Support Tube, Upper.
I will wait until I put the airframe into the hull before cutting back this aft angle to length to suit and also trimming the angle ends to clear the hull. In the meantime I will ask others if it is really supposed to be hanging so low.
15 Feb 2015 postscript: Glen down in Nelson, BC, informed me that the baggage compartment floor lies on top of this aft angle, so it does have a purpose and is not a vestigial appendage like the human tailbone. More later on this when I lay the floorboard.
26 Sept 2015 update: 9 spacers works out just fine for getting the Cargo Panels to sit at the correct elevation about 1'' above the Fuel Tank. The length of the angles is irrelevant.
Also received in the mail were two filler pieces called for in Chapter 5.2 page 2/5 named Center Tank Support Spacer. I puzzled over their purpose for awhile before setting them aside for consideration again later.
