Manual Reference:  Section 3
Brief Description:  Fuselage Aft Assembly

Despite too many steps backwards to correct earlier mistakes today was a great day in the hangar. The outside temperature was about 0C and with the gas heater on for hours it was eventually a toasty 6C in the workspace. More importantly the linseed oil inside the Boom Tube seemed to have set up ok overnight.
I asked Steve to help me today because of the size of the boom tube. I was also forewarned in another builder's log about the difficulty of the installing the bolts in Section 3 step 5. Anyway Steve was a great help and fun to work with but the step ladder worked well as a third hand for holding up the Boom Tube at just the right andle and the 'difficult' bolts were a non-event.
I spend 2.5 hours yesterday in my apartment getting all the parts and tools sorted out for this section and today we spend 4 hours doing the assembly together.
We wasted a bit of time trying to figure out the bow and stern ends of the two Boom Support Tubes, Lower because they seemed to fit either way but the holes were not symmetrical. Flipped a coin and went with our decision. Oh well, having to reverse them later will be no big deal if we have got it wrong.
We made it as far as Section 3 step 11 and stopped for the day because the next step 12 is the Fuel Tank installation. For this I will have to deviate from the SeaRey LSX Assembly Manual that came with the kit. Instead I have to refer to the document that PA sent me by e-mail to cover the new 23 gal Fuel Tank that I received.
