Brief Description:  Riveting stuff

Waiting on my Searey LSX to arrive I have a sinking feeling that my hangar may turn out to be more of a chore to deal with than assembling the actual plane, i.e. leaking roof, non-sliding doors, mummified mice carcasses, etc. Plus my hangar neighbour, Tony, was good enough to point out to me when we met and shook hands that my non-sliding sliding doors tend to tear up the aluminum cladding on his doors when they scrape by. But every problem is really just a challenge in disguise, right? And an opportunity to learn, right?
My hangar's previous owner, Chris, generously left some useful material behind in addition to the dead mice and the rim & tire for a '53 Ford pick-up, i.e. some sheets of aluminum cladding. So not previously knowing the difference between a cleco and a taco I decided to practice riveting at home (yes, that is my kitchen table in the photo, it helps to be single) with the aim of repairing the damage to Tony's doors. As you can see, I have become a master of my tools: manual riveter, cleco pliers, clecos, aluminum rivets, 19.2v 1/2"-chuck cordless drill driver and a logbook that I used under the siding so that I didn't drill into the furniture.
Let's not talk about the laptop computer, except to say that I could have used it instead of the logbook as a table protector considering that it recently fell victim to the Cryptowall 2.0 trojan virus. Years of photographs and documents are now safely locked down in it, double encrypted, for some @#$!% hacker's eyes only, including all my flying photos and the first few pages of this builder's log. Remind me what I said about an opportunity to learn will you?
So now I am dreaming equally of riveting the hacker's ears to his nose, becoming a good new neighbour by repairing the adjacent hangar's door and trying to figure out how I am going to unload the kit crate when it arrives sometime soon.
