Brief Description: Putting Horizontal Stab together
The first picture is of a part I will later drill out. The manual doses not do a good job helping to understand which end of the elevator cable needs to be facing where. I had it wrong, after looking and staring at various parts of the manual. and being positivce I was right.
I have been spending lots of time preparing the parts: - De-burring the holes. I am using a counter sink tool mounted in my drill until a proper deburring tool arrives. - Cleaning up the edges of the sheets and angles. They all have sharp edges, cut tabs/jagged edges. I have been filing each part carefully, trimming off the tabs and rounding off sharp corners. - blowing with compressed air to get the shavings and chips away and wiping clean with acetone - using the supplied corrosion inhibitor for all mating surfaces.
This will be coming out later and the cable fed through the other way
All cleaned up and ready to fit
Test fit. Do it again and again. Always check three times before rivets
