Continued attempts to fit MLG to fuselage. (Fuselage upside down for canopy hinge bonding.) Trimmed "side pocket" of wheel well to accomodate short strut on left side. Attempted fit of wheel side/short struts; after some shimming, the short struts came close to aligning well enough to slip axle in/out with finger pressure. (The axle holes in the short struts are barely clearance fits for the axle, so "perfect" alignment is essential.)
Measuring wheel alignment disclosed wheel is about 2-deg off centerline. It appears some elongation of the right-side wheel well screw holes will both align wheel with centerline and level the axle.
