I placed the ELT Antenna behind the Co-Pilot seat in the baggage area. I made a bracket from .025 aluminum and drilled two holes along the longeron for -3 flush rivets. The whip is pulled back and a small hole drilled in the fuselage support brace. I also installed a rubber grommet to protect the whip. I think it will stay without securing the back side of the whip.
