Sealed the lower cowl outside surface, and sanded most of the upper cowl, both surfaces. Found out it's WAY better to wet sand with the 80 grit: no dust, no mask necessary, and easier to see what spots on the cowl you missed since the water doesn't sheet, but beads. Just rinse off for cleanup. The Makita cordless orbital sander works well with wet sandpaper.
