Another day to aggregate several short work sessions. Primed and painted the canopy "roll bar" and top brace between roll bar and rear fuselage. Used a rattle can of PSI Federal Gray, but that produced a slightly mottled affect, so then applied the same color with a spray gun. Came out much more even, but a bit rough (sandy) looking, probably caused by applying not enough paint a little too far away. A real art!
Went back to assembling the canopy bits. Queryied on VAF how to get the nuts attached to the aft gas strut assy, and got a good idea to use nutplates on a single extra Al plate for each side. Made extra plates, made a new ball stud aft mount for the left side because it seemed the strut end was rubbing on the canopy deck. Cleaned, alodined, and primed all with zinc phosphate.
