Brief Description: Continue fuel lines
|
|
Damn fuel lines. I fumbled around accomplishing nothing really for the line along the spar and then put together this list of my options at this point. The second is the Vans plans, though to be sure, the plans are vague about alignment of the lines through the weldment. Frankly their design and description of fuel lines for the nose-gear models sucks.
Description 5052 Al, through ldg gear weldment Pros Strongest Al; no chance of kicking line; no addtl breaks in line Cons Probably impossible to fit if done out of place, very difficult to bend in place.
Description 6061 Al, through ldg gear weldment Pros No chance of kicking line, no addtl breaks in line Cons Probably impossible to fit if done out of place, fairly difficult to bend in place. Not strongest Al.
Description 5052 Al, in front of ldg gear weldment Pros Much easier to bend out of place and then fit; strongest Al; no breaks in line. Cons Could kick with feet (exposed to floor area)
Description 5052 Al, with bulkhead connector at center bracket, through ldg gear weldment Pros Easier to bend out of place and then fit; strongest Al. Cons Another break in fuel line.
Description Bonaco flexible fuel line through or in front of weldment Pros Very easy to fit, no breaks in line. Cons Flexible fuel line; unknown quality fittings.
