Ground more off the outer strap and bevel. Cut end to proper length and marked rivet lines. Discovered the rivet holes I drilled for the inner strap are too far apart! I made them 2" and they should be 1.5" max. So I'll just drill holes in between for a 1" spacing on the inner. The outer I marked at 1.25" spacing.
