Began drilling wing tips for nut plates. Started using a nut plate jig, but it was easier to use nut plates and clecos: see photos. Note: a further trick is to use the next larger size nutplate for this step (e.g. 8/32 nutplate for final nutplate 6/32). This allows use of the larger copper cleco which means less slop when attaching here.
Start with proper size hole for screw (#28 for 6/32 screw); put nutplate on outside, clamp with cleco.
Drill the rivet hole (here, #40 bit) on one side.
Drop in a small punch to keep nutplate from moving.
