Started building an air filter box. Designed (ha!) around a 20" box fan with a standard A/C air filter. The purpose is to create a draft of air during sanding or grinding that will pass through the filter and reduce the dust in the garage.
Spent first few hours moving the electrical inlet and fan speed control from the back of the box fan to the side and top of the housing. Then started creating a frame for the filter to rest in. U-channel aluminum would have been best but the local Ace Hardware had only L-frame.
It's great fun, gives me a chance to start using all the tools, and on a project that I can make mistakes without consequence.
