Brief Description: Cleaning and Priming HS rear spar
Today I cleaned the HS rear spar and rear spar doubler. I scuffed it with a scotch brite pad. Cleaned it again. Then primed it.
Aaron Sims turned me onto using DX330 for cleaning. It's made by PPG. Cleaning is relatively simple. Just use a clean paper towels, dip them into the DX330, and keep wiping the surface until you're using a clean towel and to wipe with and it comes out clean when you're done.
DX330 doesn't really dissolve the oils and waxes. It actually lifts the offensive materials from the surface and then you wipe the DX330 off.
It works really well. I'm planning on using it rest of the way through. It's easy to work with and not that expensive. $30/gal.
