Brief Description: Conroe Visit - VS Touchup - Rudder Trim
Today was a good day. I went out the Conroe Airport (CXO) and met EAA Tech Counselor, Dennis McCright. Dennis took some time to show me around his shop and give me a few tips.
I also brought my airplane to the airport for the first time. :) He looked at my VS and was very pleasaed with the work I had done. In his opinion, he said I was building to a higher standard than a certified aircraft. :) He did provide some feedback on things I could improve on and pointed out some rivets I could dress up.
There were several RV's at the airport and I found three that were in process. Two RV-8's and an RV-10.
Once I got home I touched up the VS rivets and started on the Rudder trim tab.
The trim tab is 11" in length and I used a spare section of trailing edge to align the holes. I also dimpled the Trim tab, so it will sit flush against the rudder. It looks really good.
