Brief Description:  6-2 Shaping VS-1014

Alright, we're off!!!!

Don't laugh at 1.5 hours to make two simple 16 inch cuts. It's tough on your nerves when your first step is to start cutting metal!!!

The VS-1014 pieces were bowed, so I had to go through some work to clamp them to the table and align them with a straight edge before I marked the line to cut. All of that probably isn't necessary, but I didn't want the bow to be reflected in the cut line. Might as well take your time and get it done right the first time.

HOLY COW, the band saw cuts fast! Too Fast and Too Easy! I'm going to see if I can slow it down a bit. It's single speed, but I've got a light dimmer that I can use to decrease the voltage and slow it down.

The first cut was all over the place. I was nervous. The second one was a breeze and straighter!

I can already tell the 1" belt sander is going to be my best friend.

Tomorrow, I'm sure I'll be more confident and work a little faster. :)
