Brief Description:  Riveting the HS forward spar to the nose ribs

I have riveted the two outer nose ribs to the forward spar. That was easy since you could access them with a squeezer.

Then I started working on riveting the two inboard nose ribs and inspar ribs to the forward spar.

This was a complete disaster.

This requires three AN470AD4-7's and two AN470AD4-8's. My preference is to squeeze them, but the yoke on my squeezer doesn't have enough clearance to get on the rivets.

Since squeezing wasn't an option, I was stuck with bucking the rivets. Typically this wouldn't be a big deal, but these are AD4-forever rivets and because of the angle of the inboard ribs, you really can't get much mass behind the rivets with ANY bucking bar.

Long story short, I managed to get a few rivets in there but I'm not happy with any of them. Since these rivets will continue to be accessable, I can drill them out later. (And I plan to!)

I've decided to leave these rivets alone for now. I'm going to be purchasing a Longeron Yoke from Avery Tools and I'll squeeze them later. It's the best way to set these rivets.

I will be continuing with the horizontal stab (since the plans say it's okay to leave these rivets for later) and I will still be able to finsh the entire assembly. I plan to squeeze these rivets later.

Once I hit these rivet issues, the wheels fell off and everything was starting to go wrong.

Building airplanes will teach you to listen to yourself. So I listened and I laid my tools down for the rest of the day. I'll get started again tomorrow riveting the HS and hopefully drilling out the ugly rivets.
