I finally was able to get some use out of the DRDT-2 and my pneumatic squeezer. I dimpled the HS substructure and skins. I used the Cleaveland tools substructure dies for all the spars and ribs and the regular dies for the skins. This die combination is supposed to produce a better fit when the parts are mated together. From my perspective the fit looks great. I found it easier to dimple the edges of the skins with the pneumatic squeezer and then use the DRDT-2 to dimple the inner holes.
I saved the riveting of the VA-146 bearing assembly until I get enough parts ready to justify mixing up a batch of AKZO primer. I'm about at that stage and after reviewing the steps I had not checked off yet, I determined that I could have already drilled the bolt holes to #12. So I did that today as well.
