Brief Description: Mounted the gas tanks in the right wing
Today I mounted the tank in the right wing. After corking up the tanks per the instructions (plus some additional help from builder pictures) I had the tank close to being a tight fit. I used the "playdoh" method of loacating the fuel strainer and vent holes in the lower skin. I put a flattened piece of playdoh onto the lower skin in the rough location of the vent and drain. I then put the tank into the wing in the correct location and pressed down to make a mark in the playdoh. I small hole was drilled in the center of the playdoh impression and the hole was enlarged to fit the fittings. It worked great without me having to enlarge the holes at all.
For the tank cap hole, I followed the instructions to use a clear piece of plastic to locate the tank filler hole. Again this worked out perfectly.
The tank strainer and fuel line fittings were installed.
