Brief Description: Skinned lower surface of the stab
I learned something new today. When the manual refers to jigging blocks like the 1 x 2 used to elevate the front spar of the stab it means an actual 1" thick strip and not 5/8" like you get from Home Depot! I figured this out when I went to clamp the rear spar to the table and it lifted the front spar off the furring strip I was using. I ripped a 2 x 4 to exactly a 1" strip and it worked perfectly! Special thanks to my daughter Annie for tailing the ripsaw!
I had to enlarge the pre-punched holes for the front spar attachments so the skin would push back far enough to see the rivet line I marked on the rear spar. I had to enlarge them towards the front by an 1/8" scant.
Drilling and clecoing went quickly...but man is the skin thin and delicate. Deburring and riveting the skin on is next.
