Wing rib preparation. This entry cover all the deburring, fluting, and squaring of the ribs from 10/24 to 12/13/09. A friend of mine knows an RV builder who told me of this tool he built for squaring the rib flanges with the webs. The angle was cut at 11 degrees to allow for the springback of the flange. It works great, but it does crush the flutes down a little, putting a bend back in the rib so I will need to touch up the flutes again. I did one set of ribs like this, before I do the next set I will modify the angle on the bottom of the 'handle' so that it will leave a gap and not crush the fluting back down. Only the 'toe' of the tool should touch the rib, down in the radius between the flange and web of the rib.
