Brief Description:  Condenser mount

After messing around with the evaporater it's clear that it is too tall to fit completely above the tailcone longeron as I had hoped. I toyed with the idea of buying a different evaporater that is better designed to fit in the RV-10 but this would require remounting the condenser to move it lower/farther aft/angle downward at the front/possibly all of the above. The cost of doing this is very significant too and would easily pay for all of the Garmin autopilot servos for the airplane. I've decided that to make more room I need to move the condenser down and angle it too to make more room for the evaporater.

This is very frustrating as I hadn't planned this out very well and it's taking forever to get the A/C done. I still have to design the ducting from the evaporater to the overhead console (which I don't have yet but I do have dimensions for) and the cabin air return to the evaporater which will come off the baggage area corrugation.

At any rate at this point I am disassembling the condenser mount and removing from the tailcone for rework. The only good news is that the scat tube removed easily from the silicone I put on the naca scoops. In fact the silicone made a perfectly shaped gasket that shows the spiral wire in the scat tube so I am confident that it will be secure when I re-install and not need more silicone.
