Brief Description: Center fuselage assembly - side skins
Assembled fuselage center section side skins as follows:
1. Assembled gear blocks to center fuselage per Rans instructions. Found that the following NAS6603-7 close tolerance bolts supplied with the kit were too short: - Center bolt (between the large rivets) - Lower bolt in the two vertical rows of 4 bolts
2. Replaced the NAS6603-7 bolts in the above locations with NAS6603-8 bolts, adjusting washer sizes as needed.
3. Applied primer to the steel SSPQ-68 rivets, and pulled these rivets while wet.
4. Riveted the remainder of the assembly per Rans rivet schedule.
