Brief Description: Fuselage Center Section Assembly
Completed center fuselage frame assembly (less the longerons) as follows:
1. Prepped and primed remaining frame parts.
2. Assembled parts using 1/8" clecos.
3. Riveted per Rans rivet schedule. The rivet schedule is scattered over several pages in the Text Manual and one page in the Figures manual - very difficult to read and easy to get the wrong rivet. Also, some rivets are difficult to reach when part of the complete assembly. I found starting from the front and working aft came out OK. Many locations require a hand rivet tool.
Now ready for side skins and the forward longerons. The longerons will wait until I have the bending dies in two weeks or so. With the approaching holidays and plenty of firewall / forward fuselage work to be done, I have plenty to keep things moving.
