Brief Description: Fuselage center section - baggage rib assembly
Assembled the baggage ribs to the center fuselage assembly as follows:
1. Modified the left center baggage rib to accept the bearing block attach gusset and associated nut plates. This step was found deep in the manual in the flap torque tube installation section. This step probably could have waited, but I wanted to prime underneath the gusset and nut plates as well as on top.
2. Prepped and primed gusset and the section of the rib where the gusset fits. Riveted together and added nutplates per Rans manual.
3. Prepped and primed the baggage ribs and belly bulkhead. Cleco'd ribs in place to aft spar and riveted. Followed Rans schedule - note that the rivets on the rib with the gusset are different.
4. Installed #6 rivnuts to hold fairleads. The steel clip nuts provided tend to corrode and fall off when the screws are removed. The fairleads were modified per instructions but will be installed later when the rudder cables can be installed.
5. Attached the belly bulkhead with cleco's
6. Fitted more center section parts and attached with cleco's.
Now ready to fabricate the rear spar support angles.
