Fabricated mount for the AeroLEDS Sunlite landing light in the LH wing tip as follows:
1. Fabricated a bulkhead of out .025 6061 aluminum that spans vertically between the top and bottom wing tip skin. Drilled three #40 holes in each flange and transfer drilled into the wing tip skin and enlarged to #30.
2. Fabricated a mounting angle for the light out of .063 2024-T3 aluminum and riveted it to the bulkhead prevously fabricated. Attached light to the assembly with 10-32 hardware.
3. Temporarily mounted the landing light assembly in the wing tip with clecos. Marked corners of wingtip cut on the inside, removed landing light assembly, then drilled #40 holes at each corner.
4. Cut out rough opening with wing tip skin in place. Then removed the tip skin from the wing and filed until smooth.
5. Reattached tip skin and landing light assembly in wing tip.
Next is the fabrication and fitting of the lexan lens.
