In order to complete my aileron/elevator divorce project I need to have the elevator set up properly so I know everything works with no interference.
I use the Jon Croke method of using the cleco pliers to hold the nicopress thimble...what a great way of doing it.
I always pinch the tips of the thimble together a bit so they fit nicely inside the nicopress and draw a line in the middle of the nicopress so you can properly line up your swageing tool for that first crimp.
With the thimble in the cleco pliers I used my swager to compress the middle first, outermost part second and innermost part last. Always check swages with a Go No Go Gauge, for proper compression.
