Brief Description:  Right wing fuel tank

No work yesterday...flew the Varga and a friend to Cooperstown NY to see the Baseball Hall Of Fame...about a 2 hr flight each way on a simply beautiful day. No airport in Cooperstown so we had to land at N66 in Oneonta and then get a cab to the HOF. Cooperstown is a beautiful little town in a very Norman Rockwell type of way. The HOF was great and it takes about 3 hours to make your way through. A great day trip.

So back in the airplane factory today and I decided to start fitting the fuel tank. I used a knockout punch to make the hole in the rib for the vent line. Then used the cork strips to build up the bottom of the tank cavity. The tank is not symetrical so thought needs to be given to its shape as you do this. My goal was to get the upper edges more or less level with the spars and the ribs. Then I positioned the tank top skin and played around with the fuel cap hole...as with the other tank the hole needs to be enlarged. After threading in the gas cap body, you can see the body is not flat to the skin (same on the other tank) so tomorrow's task will be to use small pieces of cork under the skin in the locations that need to be lifted until I get it right. The skin needs to come up o the left side between 1/8 and 3/16".
