Brief Description:  1 yr later, another wing fit check (30-04)

There were many mixed emotions on this day. One it was exciting to get the wings back on. It’s been almost exactly 1 year since I last did this. This time the wings went on much easier (although I still have the electrical connections tucked out of the way. I also installed the steps and got to pay with the controls. I noticed a couple rivets that were rubbing the flaperons when fully dropped, so I can file down the edge a little to provide some more clearance. It was predicted to be the warmest day this week, with little wind and maybe some sun. Well the sun never showed, but the very slight breeze was enough to push the left wing off the build stand (breaking my heart). It fell pretty flat and into the grass, so the damage was minimal, but still traumatic to me. Lesson learned: just walk the wings out and lay them down in the grass until ready to slide them in (even in very light winds). Anyway it looks like all I need to do is replace one of the outer skins that looks like it got wrinkled. Otherwise it was a happy day. There were a lot of cars that came buy and many of the neighbors and there kids came by to look and talk about the build. Cyndi, Benjamin and Scott all took turns test fitting themselves in the plane. Everyone fit just fine, except Cyndi can’t reach the pedals. I may have to get some extensions later on.
