Brief Description: Fitted right wingtip lens and nav antenna.
Got the wingtip lens fitted in this session. wasn't too bad but like most of the fiberglass parts, it isn't the best. If I had to guess I would say they pulled the mold from the shape of the wingtip rather than the actual spot the lens fits. That would make the approx 1/16th that it seems to be oversized.
I also fitted the Archer Nav antenna. Bob Archer is adamant that it sit's in the nose with all cables routed over it. I think you could easily move it to the trailing edge where no cables would be near it but then you may have more airframe shadowing of the signal so I put it up front. I also took a page from Dan Checkoways right up on this and used some aluminum HVAC tape to make sure the antenna has good contact with the wing. One of the things this antenna relies on to function correctly is good contact with the wing metal and a couple of screws just don't seem good enough.
