Today, I took a break from sanding fiberglass to instead drill fiberglass. The door hinges get match-drilled to the fuselage and must be installed properly to prevent the doors from binding, as they are opened or closed. Once the holes are all drilled, it's time to countersink them and install hardware. I intend to buy stainless steel Tinnerman washers to go under the hardware where the door attach to the hinges, as the design of this area seems to put a lot of stress on the fiberglass. I've heard from other RV-10 builders, that they have seen their hardware begin to pull through the fiberglass after a few years.
