Today, I continued working on the door latching mechanisms. The PlaneAround 3rd latch requires cutting into the door assembly and strengthening the area where the cam will be installed. The cam, which is the real genius of the 3rd latch system, pulls the door in just before the latching pins extend into the fore and aft holes, securing the door. In this way, it provides for a more airtight seal and ensures that the pins engage correctly.
