Today I finished countersinking the second spar and installed all the platenuts. Afterwards, guess what?... More countersinking of course! After installing the platenuts, it's time to countersink the holes which will receive the screws. The countersinking is not just for the screws themselves, but a dimple too, so the countersink cage is set very deep to prepare these holes. It was a little nerve-racking to countersink so deeply, especially since the oversized holes would allow the bit to warble if not held tightly in place. After "sneaking up" on a few of the holes, I gained the touch and confidence to move more quickly with the other ones.
