So with the CORRECT battery measurements in hand, I created a new battery box. Like other builders I made my outboard end of the box removeable (I will mount my battery per the plans on the starboard side of the firewall).
All the bends were made with my seaming pliers, and by just bending them over the edge of my work table.
Some scrap P3 hinges were attached, riveted from the INSIDE of the box to keep the inside surfaces smooth.
