- Last night I prime painted areas where I had reworked the engine mount. Today I painted those areas gloss black (photo #1).
- Removed material from lower flange of fuselage motor mount so the landing gear will pass by.
NOTE: There are NO instructions about this area on the plans; a major oversight in my opinion. Without removing essentially the ENTIRE lower flange of the lower fuselage motor mounts (photo #2) the lower engine mount sits ON that lower flange. That is how I set my motor mount since there were not instructions to do otherwise, So my engine mount is mounted too HIGH by the thickness of the lower flange. Hopefully that will not have too much of an effect on the cowling and the thrust line.
But I still had to remove material because the landing gear legs would not clear that lower flange. I was careful to fully file and sand the area to avoid nicks where stress risers could form.
