Finished adding added angle braces for the rear bow. Photo #1 shows them in progress with clecos. I then updrilled, deburred and riveted. I think I'll paint all of that structure the same RED as teh bulkhead behind.
I would like to have the canopy frame in place when I'm fitting the canopy material, but the hinge of the canopy has been held in place with clecos. Rivets don't go in until the canopy material is sandwiched and drilled between the hinge half and the tube frame.
So in photo 2 I show an aluminum rivet (actually I did one at each end) temporarily holding the hinge half in place. The two aluminum rivets will be fast and easy to drill out. But I'll have to do something about the squished end of the rivets, which will tend to drop into the tube frame, and with the corners assembled, there is no way to get them out.
I also primed and painted the white end of my air/oil separator.
I'm going out to the Sonex factory Mon-Wed next week to get Sonex tailwheel training. The insurance company wants 5 hours of instruction in a tailwheel Sonex to insure me from my first flight.
