Brief Description: Work on the Cowl Cooling Duct & Oil Cooler
Sanded the edges of the Cowl 12 Cooling Duct including the inside hole for the Oil Cooler Box Assembly. Clamped the Assembly to the Cooling Duct and match-drilled #12 holes through the top flange of the Assembly into the Cooling Duct. I could not rivet the outboard holes in the nutplates because there is interference by the shop heads of nearby rivets to properly position the rivet set. I may need to get a wider rivet set. I was able to squeeze rivets in the inboard holes of the nutplates. I missed a couple of rivets when attaching the FF-1214 Oil Cooler Faceplate to the FF-1212 Oil Cooler Frame and I’ll complete this step when I have the correct rivets on hand. Match-drilled #12 holes at the bottom of the Cooling Duct using the Cowl Guides as guides. Bolted the Cowl Guides to the Cooling Duct and removed the Oil Cooler Box Assembly.
49-13: Trimmed one edge of the Cowl 12 Duct Interface per the plans.
Primed the F-1201V Coolant Bottle Strap and the FF-00002 Friction Comb.
