Brief Description: Cowling and Cooling System work
38-06 to 38-09: Primed the left F-12115 Side Hinges and the left F12116 Mid Cowl Hinge and riveted them to the cowls. Installed the Top and Bottom Cowls and the fit is good. Drilled #19 holes through the knuckle flange of the Cowl Hinge Pins into the Bottom Cowl and in the front of the Top and Bottom Cowls. Drilled #40 nutplate rivet attach holes at the sides of the #19 holes and riveted K1000-08 nutplates. Countersunk the #40 holes in the Cowl Oil Door. Deburred the Oil Door, the Oil Door Gooseneck and the Hinge Lugs. Will prime these parts before riveting them together. Attached the F-1285B-1 Cowl Close-out Bracket to the nosegear and then attached the F-1285 Cowl Bottom Close-out.
49-02: Started work onSection 49: Cooling System. Cut 2 pieces from the EA Hose H151 to make the FF-1208A and FF-1208B Radiator Hoses. Deburred the ends of the FF-1208C Expansion Springs and inserted them in the radiator hoses. The spring in the FF-1208B protrudes beyond one end. Not sure if this is what it is supposed to be but won't do any trimming at this time. Cut the stainless steel hinge for the cooler box hinges but cut it the wrong way. I'll have to get a replacement. Deburred several hardware for the cooling system.
