Brief Description:  Trimmed fuel vent line, cleaned aircraft surfaces

37-11: Removed the Baggage Bulkhead Corrugation to check the T-01219B Fuel Vent Line if it is secured to its attachments and to make sure it has not slipped towards the bottom. A flying RV-12 owner commented that the part of the Fuel Vent Line that protrudes past the F-1282-R Lower Tailcone Skin on his airplane was shorter than mine. On my aircraft it extends about 1.5 inches but the plans recommends ½ to ¾ inch. I shortened the vent line and cut a 45 degree bevel per the plans.

25-06: In preparation for the installation of the F-1277A Aft Window I placed the screws loosely at about every other hole. I then placed electrical tape on the window and the F-1277 Turtle Deck Skins.

Cleaned parts of the Tailcone, V-Stab, Rudder and H-Stabilator with acetone to remove dirt and a sticky film that remained after I removed the blue vinyl cover. I didn’t realize that this was going to be time-consuming and I’ll need a lot of acetone. There are areas where epoxy dripped onto unprotected aluminum skins which will be harder to remove.
