Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Modifications

37-07: Fabricated the T-01219C Fuel Vent Line and flared the end that will attach to the fitting at the top of the fuel tank. Started fabricating the T-01219B Fuel Vent Line. The instructions are somewhat sparse and not easy to visualize in my mind. Started the bends at the upper end of the line but will wait until the fuel tank is in place and the airline installed (with the fittings) to finalize the total length and the curves.

SB 11-12-14: Removed the T-1209 Sender Plate form the the front of the fuel tank. Applied Polygone gel before removing it but am not sure if it helped much since it would be hard to penetrate the cured sealant between the plate and the tank. This was chore (and slow) trying to pry the plate form the tank. Drilled off the nutplates from the T-1205 Fwd Tank Bracket and then drilled-out the 3 rivets where the T-0008 and T-0009 Clips will sit. Match-drilled #30 holes into the tank using the Clips as templates.

37A-03: Drilled #30 holes in the top of the Fuel Tank for the Mechanical Fuel Gauge. Cut a 1-1/2 inch hole around the center hole using an inexpensive cutter I got from Harbor Freight Tools. Deburred the edges of the hole and trial fitted the Fuel Gauge, and it fits well. Will continue with the rest of the fuel tank mods later.
