Brief Description: Applied new sealant to the Firewall
Got the firewall sealant from the factory a week ago. It is the Semkit made by PPG. It did not come with a nozzle and had to order one from Aircraft Spruce. Hand mixing was laborious, had to move the plunger fore and aft at least 90 times and turning clockwise at the same time (per instructions). I applied the sealant around the firewall edges, tooling holes and over the rivet heads. It has a rubbery consistency which dries relatively quickly and does not filet easily if not done quickly. Reinstalled the F-1240 Upper Fwd Fuselage Skin.
