Brief Description: Made access opening in L WingTip Close-Out
I purchased the lighting kit option and am installing it during the build instead of after the aircraft is completed. The installation instructions are for retrofitting a completed airplane so I'm figuring out when to do certain steps and referring to 2 different chapters as I go along. Today, I prepared the wing access cut-out and cut the access opening on the Left W-1204D WingTip Close-Out. First tried a multifunction tool with a half-moon cutter but the blade is too big to be useful. Tried a rotary tool with a cutting disc which worked well. The cut edges are rough and need major deburring.
