Brief Description: Installed nutplates to TC and installed Servo
Got the long #40 drill bit from Aircraft Spruce and match-drilled the rivet attach holes into the Tail Cone. It was not easy because of interference from the H-Stab parts. For some nutplates (especially the top inboard ones) I positioned the nutplates on the outside surface of the TC to match-drill the holes. This worked well. Dimpled the nutplates and the the TC skin. Did partial tap of the center holes of 2 nutplates per the plans. Riveted the nutplates to the TC. Drilled a 3/4 hole at the bottom of the Lower TC Fairing. Attached the Servo Assembly to the Pushrod assembly and bolted the Trim/Servo Assembly to the TC and Anti-Servo Tab Assembly. Spent significant amount of time looking for the installation hardware. I couldn't find the MS24665-151 Cotter Pin to secure the castellated nut and I'll have to order some. Temporarily connected the 2 white wires to a 12 volt battery to check the servo operation. It works.
The above work included steps from Section 11-07 and 11-08.
