Brief Description: More work on the Tailcone Fairings
Filed the Upper and Lower Tailcone fairings (again) to a create the prescribed gap between them. Countersinked the holes in the Lower Fairing and then riveted the F-1294C Tabs. Trimmed the aft slot in the Lower Fairing per the plans and then joined it with the Upper Fairing. Attached the Rudder Assembly to the V-Stabilizer and clamped the F-1294 Fairing Assembly to the Tailcone. Clearance from the rudder is satisfactory. Drilled two #40 holes in the left side of the Fairings and Tailcone and then removed the Fairings. Attached the H-Stabilator to the Tailcone. I was working alone and had to use 2 adjustable sawhorses to help position the stabilator hinges to the bearings in the Tailcone. I spent a lot of time trying to place washers between the bearings and the hinges even with a tool to hold the washers because of the very limited space. I did not superglue the washers to the hinges as recommended. On second thought, maybe I should have.
