Brief Description:  Dimpled tool box and drove my first rivet!

Tonight was one of those milestone events. After dreaming of building an airplane for 26 years, I finally drove my first rivet. First we dimpled with the DRDT-2 (from here on known as "Big D") and we pounded some rivets. Colten did a practice project at Kidventure at Oshkosh last year, so he had some experience and helped me through it.

I tried a few of the different ends on the Sioux rivet gun and the results were OK. Big D worked great and was easy to set up. I also squeezed a few rivets with the "Main Squeeze" hand squeezer from Cleaveland Tools. It worked very well and will be great when working by myself.

Colten used the Tungstun bucking bar when we used the gun and he did a nice job. Tungstun is very dense and surprisingly heavy for its size and worked well on the rivets. I have a lot to learn about this process, but know a lot more tonight than I did yesterday.
