Brief Description:  Checking Engine Parts for Installation

I spent some time going through the new parts I have collected to upgrade the engine to current best practise.I have discussed this with a number of people and Ian Bent at CAMIT has been most helpful and knowledgable. The rebuild as indicated earlier was initiated because of teh service bulletin requiring the throughbolt nuts to be replaced. Once you start I figured I might as well get this engine up to the best possible modification state. So the modifications include:

All manditory Jabiru overhaul upgrades
Convert to solid lifter (Honda follower, pushrods, rockers and value springs)
Large 7/16 through bolts with CAMIT nuts
Starfish Flywheel attachment
CAMIT Altenator
CAMIT twin 3 into 1 exhaust collectors

Not upgrading the propellor flange. There is a later version which adds 3 dowls to the propellor flange attachment. As I am not dissassempling this part I have not attempted to alter it in any way. I plan to use the approved Sensenich wooden propellor only which is the lightest prop available and therefore I don't consider it necesary to mess with the prop flange.

Upgrades still under consideration
Rotec throttle body fuel injector
Cold Start CDI ignition replacing one magneto

All this checking revealed that the flywheel I have needs to be machined to fit the starfish adapter. We missed this on the first go around and Ian kindly offerd to performed this work for me at zero cost. So I shipped the flywheel up to Bunderburg. Thanks Ian. It has been a very good experience working through the many issues and complications of upgrading an engine with Ian and Jenny Bent help ( CAMIT). Very highly recommended and much appreciated your patience and assistance.
