Brief Description:  Rivet flaps

I disassembled the flaps and deburred all holes in the skin, ribs and hinges. Cleaned up the inside of the skins and sprayed single pack grey etch primer along the rib join lines. Sprayed the ribs and hing along the face that fixes to the flap. Re-assembled all the parts and riveted it all together with the specified A5 blind rivets. The rivet pulling head is concave and forms the head of the rivet from flat to round as it is pulled. the rivet should be pressed against the skin around the edge without marking the skin. They all went in and set correctly.

The right flap [arts had been primed all over before I go tthe kit. The left flap parts where bare aluminium. I primed mating surfaces and very lightly the inside of the flap. No primer on the outside skin. the outside will be primed when I get to painting the plane. So other than that they are the same. I weighed them both to see if there was any difference. Left flap 3289g and right 3309g. So the extra primer adds about 20g.
